Elise Designs, Inc. works in a variety of pay structures depending on the requirements and size of the job. This can be by design fee, hourly wage, a mark up of costs and labor or a combination of the above. An initial consultation fee of $75 an hour is set to establish a rapport between the client and the designer, discuss ideas, the client's budget and the design work that needs to be done.

Upon making the decision to work together, a design fee is required, the amount depending on the size and scope of the job. The designer then proceeds with the design concept and the selection of materials, colors, furniture, fabrics, etc. and obtains bids from the licensed contractors. The client can also go shopping with the designer at an hourly wage or a mark up on purchases depending on which is greater.

A design presentation is then made at the client's house (or the particular showroom) and ideas are exchanged until an agreement is reached concerning the final design. Upon signing a formal contract, a deposit of 50% (except on fabrics and some materials which must be paid in full before installation) is made with the balance being paid either upon installation or in increments, depending on the contractor. Pictures are also taken before and after to create a portfolio. The designer coordinates and supervises all contractors to be sure their work is done according to the design concept and with the highest quality of workmanship.
